Engineering is a team discipline.

Small groups and an international classroom make collaboration part of everyday study. You learn to explain ideas, listen carefully and turn different viewpoints into stronger technical solutions.

What is International Engineering?

International Engineering gives you the flexibility to explore different specialisations and career paths without committing too early. The curriculum combines the fundamentals of electrical and mechanical engineering with the international dimensions of engineering practice.

Flexible, international and project-based

From the first semester, teaching takes place in English. The programme builds scientific and technical foundations before applying them to increasingly complex engineering questions with global and intercultural dimensions.

Project-based learning is central to the didactic concept. In group projects, students apply and deepen the content of each semester, organise responsibilities and learn to present and defend technical decisions.

What students gain

  • Broad knowledge of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and computing
  • Scientific methods for analysing and solving engineering problems
  • Experience with modern information technologies and planning tools
  • Intercultural communication and international project teamwork
  • Independent learning and responsible, sustainable decision-making

What makes the degree distinctive?

English as a working language

Students build the vocabulary needed to read, discuss and present technical content internationally. At the same time, learning German remains highly valuable for everyday life, internships and long-term career options in Germany.

An international classroom

Different educational and cultural backgrounds make teamwork more realistic. Students learn to avoid assumptions, make expectations explicit and turn diverse viewpoints into stronger technical discussions.

A practice-oriented region

Bavaria and the Allgaeu are shaped by manufacturing, mechanical engineering, mobility, energy and specialised medium-sized companies. This environment provides context for applied projects and professional development.

Perspectives after graduation

As an International Engineering graduate, you are prepared to work flexibly, internationally and across disciplines. The Bachelor of Engineering is a first professional qualification and can also provide access to suitable Master's programmes.

Where you can contribute

  • Technology development
  • International projects
  • Global production
  • Technical consulting
  • Global procurement
  • Technical service

Your competence profile

You can analyse and develop technical systems, manage projects in international teams, use digital tools for analysis and planning, independently acquire knowledge and apply communication, integration and leadership skills.

Engineering with responsibility

The programme also prepares you to consider the social and ecological effects of engineering decisions, respond constructively to change and continue developing professionally throughout your career.

More opportunities built into your studies

International Engineering combines personal support with the infrastructure and networks of a modern university of applied sciences.

Modern laboratories

Use contemporary equipment in laboratories, lecture rooms and learning spaces to connect teaching with practical experimentation.

Small learning groups

Compact groups support direct exchange, personal advice and active participation in projects.

Strong company network

Benefit from local, regional and wider industry connections for practical experience and career orientation.

Over 110 partner universities

International exchange, incoming students and the university's own language centre strengthen the global campus environment.

Industries around the world

Possible sectors include mechanical engineering, automotive, automation and robotics, electrical and electronics industries, plant engineering, pharmaceuticals, microsystems technology and IT.

Continue with a Master's degree

After the Bachelor of Engineering, a suitable three-semester Master's programme may follow at Hochschule Kempten or another university in Germany or abroad. A later doctorate may also be possible.
